When you first begin growing out an epic beard of your own you'll often read various 'horror stories'. From 'beards are dirtier than toilets' to the dreaded never-ending 'beard itch'. All of which can prove to be a little off putting to those who may be considering growing a facial forest. But worry not! As the results easily outweigh the bad press our beards regularly receive. Well, here are four things you'll learn when growing out your beard...

As awful as the dreaded 'beard itch' phase can be to many, the key to survival is to remember that it doesn't last forever. In fact, it may only last a matter of a week or three. So, when you feel like you're about to rip your face off through pure raw itching frustration, just take a minute to breath, relax and recall this is in fact only a phase. One you'll look back on and be glad you weathered on through it to sport a face full of gruff that you can be rightfully proud of.

YOUR GLORIOUS BEARD IT LIKE NO OTHER!

Your marvel of a beard grows in its very own way making it truly unique to you and you alone. Yes, one beard might resemble another in size, shape and colour. But with the power of science and biology your facial hair contains its very own unique coding that only matches you 'genetic print'. Much like our fingerprints, two may be very similar to the human eye, but no two will ever be identically the same. Making your glorious beard like no other.

YOUR BEARD WILL THICKEN OUT IN NEXT TO NO TIME!

When we ponder the thought of growing a beard the worry that you'll not be able to fulfill a face full of fluff often appears in ones train of thought. Truth be told, granted a little time and a whole lot of TLC your beard will start flourishing into a thick, long beard in next to no time. Of course, you must continue to be patient and not expect to wake up one morning looking like a werewolf, but you'll be pleasantly surprised just how fast a stubbly face can begin to take the shape of a beard to be proud of.

You might read the above sentence and have a giggle, but it is true! I quickly learned when growing out a beard when in social gatherings complete random folks would often approach me and give high levels of compliments about my beard, often followed by a ton of questions. Your friends are likely to at first take the piss a little, but given time they'll warm to the new look you. Many may even prove a little envious on your ability to sprout out and sport a magnificent beard without giving a care to the world.
