HOW TO CORRECTLY COMB YOUR MARVELOUS BEARD
When it comes to taking good care of our precious beards, it can prove rather easy to make a few mistakes along the way, many you might not even know your are doing. Combing through your facial bush is a vital part to many bearded man's day-to-day routine, as nobody wants to leave the home with the equivalent of a wild bird's nest harnessed upon your face. So, today I wanted to focus on the correct way to care for your beard when using your trusty beard combs...
PICKING THE RIGHT COMB FOR THE JOB AT HAND MAY PROVE KEY!
First and foremost you're going to need to pick up a high quality comb to tackle that beard. It is important to pick a sturdy wide toothed comb that won't cause too much snagging when brushing through your beard. There are many good quality combs readily available online, I for one have tried many of them. From toughened plastic to razor cut wood handled combs. But I much prefer to use my tried and tested hand crafted 'TBS' flip-style V comb. Using this along side our 'TBS' range will have any morning knots and tangles gone with ease, without accidentally pulling half your face off in the process.
FINDING A ROUTINE THAT WORKS WELL FOR YOU AND STICKING WITH IT WILL HELP!
When you discover a daily grooming routine that fits into your lifestyle it is important to try and stick with it. Combing your glorious beard should already be a huge part of this, combing your beard in the morning, throughout the day as and when it is needed and in evening will keep your beard in great shape. It is also key to not over comb your beard, as in doing so you you may cause further troublesome areas to arise, such as split ends and snagging loose certain tangled areas that could lead to beard thinning/balding spots. Figure out what routine works best for you and your lifestyle and run with it, Brother.
COMBING YOUR BEARD IN THE CORRECT PROCEDURE WILL ALSO HELP YOU!
When you comb through your facial forest it is important to go gentle and steady to get the best results possible. If you go at it like a bull seeing red you'll only snag it more often within the knotted areas which will tend to pull out hairs rather than untangle them. If you do find yourself hitting a sudden beard snag make sure you stop and reverse, then start again in the same area to loosen the knot rather than pull right through it. If you're overly aggressive you'll struggle to reach optimal results and could quiet easily cause more hurt than good for yourself.
