TAKE GOOD CARE OF YOUR BEARD DURING A SUDDEN HEATWAVE
It is a little-known fact that facial hair can protect you from what would be otherwise harmful UV rays directed by the sun, but did you know your face fur takes quite the battering from doing so?
Today I want to discuss four of the most detrimental effects to your beard that are often caused by heavy exposure to sunshine and unbalanced humidity levels, just so you can be ahead of the game in helping to protect your face fuzz...
DRYING OUT HAIRS CAN LEAD TO SPLIT ENDS REAL FAST!
Have you ever been caught short following a busy morning, that sees you forget to take a little time aside to apply some product to your beard?
Things begin to feel dry, itchy and pretty unkempt. and if you add higher than usual humidity and longer bouts of sunshine you'll only speed up the drying out process and uncomfortable feeling it delivers.
Whilst your face whiskers will, of course, protect your facial skin from UV exposure, you must take a little time to care for your face fur as well. Adding a little product will do just that, vitalizing your fuzzy face to live long and prosper another day.
ITCHING, RASHING SKIN CAN ALSO FOLLOW!
Not only can the sun quickly damage your beard by drying out its hairs, you can also pick up a rather nasty, itchy skin irritating rash that's enough to drive even the sanest of minds bat-stir crazy.
Opting in to use a moisturizer might just help here, being sure to pay time to your skin hidden below your beard, as well as your face and neckline.
The online market is packed full of different tips, tricks, and potions, whereas a basic moisturizer will deliver nicely and do the trick just fine.
BRITTLE HAIRS WILL SOON BEGIN TO FORM IF NOT CORRECTED AND FAST!
If split ends were not already rather ugly enough, unfortunately, that is not the only problem that our facial hair has to contend with during heated bouts. Brittle dry, dying hairs are real, and often form rather quickly as well, stopping our beloved face fur dead in its tracks and can even stump its growth rate.
Ever been feeling through your manly beard and noticed a sudden knot or tangle? That's often how things start, and if left uncared for these will often spread and cause more problems for you to follow quickly.
These issues often progress following poor diet choices, and/or lack of a balanced beard care routine. The easiest way to fix this is to take a light trim every once in a while to help remove any dead hairs and split ends, think about what you put inside your body diet-wise and take care using beard balms, butters, oils, and washes.
SUN DAMAGE CAN EFFECT ANY BEARD, REGARDLESS OF ITS SHAPE, STYLE OR SIZE!
Much like you protect (or at least, you should!) yourself in the summer sun, it is just as important to take good care of your facial hair. It doesn't have to be a frantic task, so here's a handful of simple pointers that'll see you right during any given heatwave.
Choose a well-balanced beard oil, balm or butter, and apply it generously! This'll help to protect and hydrate your face fuzz.
Wear a face protector during long bouts of sun exposure, they come in a wide range of designs, so you'll not have to look far to find one that you like. Same goes for wearing headgear, like fitted caps and sun shades, it all has really beneficial uses for doing so, so be smart and sun safe.
Stay well hydrated! Keeping you liquids topped up will see you survive even the toughest of temperatures. When your body becomes dehydrated, you'll become slow, sluggish and lethargic, and both your hair and your facial hair will suffer from this as well.
Find a routine, and repeat it! Once you find what works for you, don't cut corners and make sure you stick to it! Trust me, it'll prove beneficial to you and your beard in the long term.
