4 RULES TO FOLLOW IF YOU'RE NEW TO GROWING A BEARD
With the popularity of beards continuing to grow (pun absolutely intended!) each day, more and more gents are choosing to throw in the towel of the daily shaving grind in favour of growing out and sporting some form of facial hair. But what lays ahead for you new guys? Let's give you a few pointers that'll make your life a little easier if you choose to follow them...
FACE FORESTS DON'T FLOURISH INTO AWESOME OVERNIGHT!
You've heard of that old saying 'Rome wasn't built in a day!' right? Well, the same goes for you and your soon to be beard! You're going to experience days where you might feel like an extra from The Planet Of The Apes, as your stubble will itch like crazy and might not be all that pretty to look at either. But don't sweat it, as there are a few things you can do to help.
Keeping your skin dirt free by washing frequently and well hydrated with a premium beard oil and/or balm will minimise that dreadful itch, granted it's almost impossible to be completely rid of it, but thankfully this stage doesn't last for too long, and before you know it it'll be a thing of the past.
IT'S TIME TO INVEST IN THE RIGHT TOOLS TO HELP KEEP THOSE WHISKERS TAMED!
It's very important to start practicing the basics of beard care on a regular basis. As I always suggest to others it's never too early to start a healthy grooming routine. Combing your beard will soon become as equally important to you as cleaning it is. So the sooner you start the easier to transition into your new routine it will become.
Make sure when you choose your first beard comb it is something that will be suitable for the job at hand. If you pick up a standard comb you'll often find that they tend to snag your beard rather than help detangle. So, we suggest you use a wide toothed comb, or better still why not give our 'TBS' beard combs a try?AS SIMPLE AS THIS MIGHT SOUND, JUST LET IT GROW!
This might sound a little like a stupid, yet rather obvious suggestion, but let it grow! Your beard certainly knows how to grow out with little to no input needed from you or any lotions or potions in the process. Yes, there are things that you can do to make the transition simpler, but most beards grow just fine without. So my biggest piece of advice would be is to sight tight, relax and get ready for your furry face to flourish.
CONGRATULATIONS, AND WELCOME TO THE BEARD BROTHERHOOD!
It's amazing what a difference a beard can make to a gentleman's confidence, and now you are one of 'the bearded ones' you'll soon relate to what I mean by this. Beards not only look shit hot, but the ladies seem to rather dig them as well, which is a real bonus. Before my beard, I had very little of a personal image that somebody might recognise me for, but now having had a beard for around 3 years or so I've become more confident within myself and my newfound beard image. My kids love it, as does my beautiful wife. Would I ever be without my beard now? I think not. And ask any beardsmen the same question and I'm almost certain you'll receive the same response in return. There goes another beard blog for today my furriends (Sorry, I couldn't resist!) As always we love to read your thoughts, feedback and questions in the comments section below, so take a moment to leave us a little something before you go!
