BANNED FROM YOUR OWN GRADUATION FOR HAVING A BEARD!

You love your beard right? it has become part of you, your lifestyle and who you are, and rightfully so! But what would you do if you were banned from YOUR OWN graduation because of your facial hair? Well that's exactly what happened to one pupil named Andrew Jones.

It has been reported on several news websites that Jones was a high achieving star soccer/football player at Amite High School in Louisiana, New Orleans. After growing out a goatee style beard which he had proudly sported for over a year his high school hadn't seen this as a problem, that was until his graduation was nearing. Jones was asked by the University to shave off his beard for the graduation ceremony, of which he outright refused. School officials then intervened and confiscated his graduation regalia then sent the individual home, banning him from his own graduation ceremony.

Mark Lowe, a spokesperson for the high school has since stated - ''The board has a policy and we have to adhere to the policy until it gets changed. Until it changes, I'm responsible for following it.''

Now, whilst i understand and fully appreciate rules in both the workplace and school are in place for a reason. I can't and wont ever understand the ruling when it comes to beards. Yes, for hygiene purposes around food we should be expected to wear face nets. But who has the right to tell another individual they can't grow a beard? Growing out your beard should be the beholders choice and their choice alone. I understand beards are not liked by everybody, but in turn that doesn't deem those dislikers the right to refuse us wearing our beard-manes.

What do you think of this recent report? Do you slander such rules as complete nonsense? Or do you see things somewhat clearer than i do and instead understand why such rules are in place? As always let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.

And until next time, Beard on Brothers, Beard on...
