TASTY TRICKS TO HELP MAINTAIN YOUR BEARD
Happy Thursday my fellow beardsmen and furry face admirers. Saturday is firmly in our sight, as we prepare for a much needed well deserved weekend break.
Today we are here to continuously provide you with every trick in the book to help better manage your beloved face fur, so let us begin with today's blog topic, which is smartly titled Tasty Tricks To Help Maintain Your Beard...
There's no strict ruling or guideline to follow on how frequently you should or should not be trimming your facial hair, as this depends on many factors and can differ from one person to another.
A long growing beard may only require a light trim every few months or so, whereas a shorter more manageable beard style would require more of an upkeep. The only rule here is to remember at some point or another a trim is very much needed.
The reason a trim is essential every now and again as this will help to minimise the number of split ends you have, and in return will grant easier control or a wild, unruly beard. You can visit a bard barber in your local area, or of course you could trim your facial hair yourself at home. The choice is yours.
BEARD OIL OR BEARD BALMS OR BUTTERS, WHICH SHOULD I CHOOSE?
The choice between beard oils and balms all boils down to personal preferences on which products you like better than others. Here is how I view balms and oils. Oils work a charm, they are simplistic to use and grant the wearer a softer more manageable face forest after use. Balms are equally just as great and offer all the protection that oils do, but they may also deliver a little better control to an out of control wilder beard, much like my own.
So, stocking up on each product is a great call, as then you can pick and choose what you would like to use on a day to day basis. I apply myself with some balm in the morning, then top up a little later that same day with a premium oil, which works great for me.
HELP! MY BEARD IS FULL OF KNOTS AND TANGLES!
Knots and tangles can happen to the very best of us, and can prove a right old pain in the backside to defuse. The easiest trick in the book would be to exercise regular use of a premium beard care product, such as beard oils and balms, then to comb through your fuzz regularly as well.
I usually select a wide toothed comb in the morning after I wash which will help to loosen any tangles with ease, then evenly apply some product, before combing back through with my TBS V Comb for the finish. Here's a tasty little tip, always carry your pocket sized comb along with you on your travels, and daily commute, as it could just be the saviour you never knew you needed.
HOW CAN I HELP KEEP MY BEARD CLEAN FROM EVERY DAY DIRT AND GRIME BUILD UP?
So, you've finally finished a long shift at your workplace, you get home and jump right into the shower to freshen yourself up, but what should you wash your beard with? Everyday shampoo will cut it, right? WRONG.
A common misconception that regular conditioners and shampoos work well on your facial hair, is partly true, but it will come at a harsh cost. Choosing to use shampoos and conditioners for your head hair on your facial hair can have the reverse effect and cause you a whole host of issues that you never signed up for, such as dry itching skin spots, to brittle facial hairs which strips your hair of its natural moisture. But why?
This happens simply because these items were not created with your face fuzz in mind, and contain much higher levels of ingredients and chemicals that could cause more harm than good. Short term, yes you might find the results you were looking for, but over time things will slowly decline, at the cost of a healthy beard, that is.
