Beards are pretty awesome, I'm sure you'd all agree. Having sported my facial forest for quite some years now I do often find myself getting asked some of the most strangest questions on the planet in regards to my beard. So today I wanted to take a moment to answer 4 Of The Most Asked Questions A Bearded Guy Gets Asked...

CAN I TOUCH YOUR BEARD?

More often than not you'll find yourself being asked this question right after the person asking it has already began to touch it. (The beard that is. Keep it clean!) Now, I'm not too fussed about the odd fondle every now and then from the curious naked faced folks. But when somebody jumps right in and makes a complete mess of things that can prove rather testing on one's patience. Also please remember I use essential beard care products that might leave your hand a little oily, and be gentle! After all this wonderful red beard is still attached to my face and I fully intend to keep it that way!

I WONDER WHAT YOU WOULD LOOK LIKE IF YOU SHAVED YOUR BEARD OFF?

In short I would look around 12 years old and resemble a moon. There are still photos around that prove once upon a time in a and far far away I didn't pack a beard, but those photos are better off locked away and forgotten all about. After all I do not even recognise myself these days in those pics! Wedding albums and everything! It's just a little weird and pretty scary if I am totally honest.

DOESN'T THAT BEARD GET ITCHY AND IRRITATING IN THE SUMMER?

Another beard myth that simply is not true. Beards don't overheat your face no matter how hot the summer months might seem. As a matter of fact facial hair actually acts as a barrier blocking away the sun from your face which in turn helps the face to stay a tad cooler in comparison to the rest of your body. Then in the colder months of the year your beard plays a part in helping lock in your facial heat keeping you that little bit warmer too. Not too shabby, right?

ARE YOU GONNA SHAVE THAT BEARD OFF ANYTIME SOON?

Usually this question gets asked by your Grandma or other members of the family who still treasure your school photos so dearly remembering that smiley happy little naked faced boy you once was. And I'm sorry to burst your 'Trip Down memory Lane Bubble' Grandma, but that is never going to happen. It's pretty much the same as asking if somebody is ever going to consider shaving all the hair off their head. Nope, I didn't think so either. Most bearded fellows become rather attached with their beard manes as they grow on them (See what I did there?) and the single thought alone of raising another razor to their face and begin hacking away at that glorious facial forest they've so proudly grown is considered nothing less than a real life nightmare. If you love a man who sports any form of facial hair, then please respect the beard too.
